Among the Birches captures a quiet encounter in the autumn woods—a black bear peering through a grove of striking white birch trees.
The bear emerges between the trunks, one paw wrapped around a tree as warm amber eyes look outward from the forest. Bold black-and-white birch bark creates dramatic contrast against a richly textured background filled with burnt orange, rust, gold, and touches of autumn green.
There is a wonderful sense of curiosity in this painting. The bear isn't charging through the landscape or standing dramatically in the open. Instead, he seems to have stopped for just a moment to look back at us from among the trees.
Originally painted by Jana Rae, this digital fine art print preserves the expressive brushwork, texture, color, and handmade character of the original acrylic painting, including the artist's signature.
With its strong contrast and warm woodland palette, Among the Birches would work beautifully in a cabin, living room, den, study, entryway, bedroom, cottage, lodge-inspired room, or nature-themed interior.
