Created entirely by hand in my Michigan studio, every layer of acrylic was applied slowly to build atmosphere, depth, and expressive texture that can only exist in an original painting. While high-quality digital downloads of this artwork may be available separately, only one original painting exists. It remains a one-of-a-kind work of art and will never be recreated.

I've always been drawn to the quiet moments that come before something important begins.

There is a stillness before every performance—a pause where preparation, hope, and courage quietly come together. Most people remember the applause, but I've always found myself wondering about the moments just before the first note is played, when everything is silent and possibility fills the room.

My hope is that Before the Music becomes more than a painting on a wall.
